Head of 3D Art
Job Description
Head of 3D Art will provide artistic or technical guidance and leadership to the 3D Art team. They are expected to bring the concepts designed for the game to life in 3D and prepare them for integration into the game. They will be responsible for the visual appearance of the game within Unity and resolving technical issues.
REQUIREMENTS
- Working closely with the Art Lead for the game's requirements and planning.
- Experienced in optimization for lower-end devices.
- Familiarity with Unity workflows: prefabs, particle systems, asset management.
- Serving as a bridge between Art and Programming, facilitating effective collaboration between both teams.
- Expertise in modeling with Blender or similar programs.
- Proficiency in Substance Painter, Designer, and Adobe Photoshop for stylized textures.
- Knowledge of optimized, organic, and hard-surface topology for rigging and animation.
- Advanced level experience in Unity.
- Deep understanding of Unity's Scriptable Render Pipeline (URP/HDRP).
- Strong understanding of composition, perspective, color, lighting, and rendering.
- Strong artistic and technical skills to find creative solutions.
- Collaborative and passionate about teamwork and games.
- Preferably, have knowledge of Scrum methodology
- Preferably, Bachelor’s or higher degree in art and design.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Creating efficient, stylized, textured 3D characters, environments, and props.
- Preparing 3D models for rigging.
- Configuring meshes and materials in Unity.
- Validating and optimizing models for the game.
- Creating stylistic lighting setups and final renderings.
- Lighting and post-processing for game scenes.
- Providing leadership and mentorship for other 3D artists.
- Working closely with the Product, Art, and Development Team.
- Curating the visual style and overall look of the game.
- Contributing to a user experience-oriented design culture.
- Being a part of the team on this journey as we set out to entertain billions.
